Vedic Philosophy by Kripaluji Maharaj

Jagadguru Kripalu Ji Maharaj (the 5th Original Jagadguru), was a multi-million spiritual guru in India who taught exalted, but comprehensible, Vedic philosophy.

The founder of Prem Mandir and the leader of the Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat, he interprets the Vedas, Bhagavad Gita and Shrimad Bhagavatam as focusing on Prem Bhakti as the ultimate purpose of spirituality, i.e. a selfless and pure loving relationship to God.

His philosophy as found in some of his works such as Prem Ras Siddhant directs devotees on the path to blissful eternity of worship and surrender.

The Ultimate Goal: God-Realization through Bhakti

Kripaluji Maharaj preached that this is the whole point of life to realize the almighty and live in his eternal delight. He concluded that this worldly success is not permanent, and the eternal love of Shri Radha Krishna, the supreme God, is the only solution to a truthful desire of the soul. This goes in line with the Vedic teachings and is explicitly captured in his devotional songs such as Shyama Shyam Geet and Radha Govind Geet.

Understanding God: Shri Krishna as the Supreme Being

The thought of Kripaluji Maharaj suggests that Krishna was the original form of Godhead, and all incarnations come out of him. He is not just an avatar but the full Supreme Personality who is loved by following the path of bhakti in the Braj land where the loving pastimes of God are played. His doctrine emphasizes that worship of Krishna, Radha should be with premlove as it represents the utmost purity.

The Eternal Soul and Maya

Kripaluji Maharaj detailed the karma theory, with the soul being eternal but encapsulated by maya the illusionary power that brings attachment and lack of knowledge. One can only be liberated through the grace of God and genuine devotion which will revivify the soul in the real character of being the eternal servant of God.

Bhakti as the Supreme Path

Kripaluji Maharaj was a proponent of many spiritual practices but he regarded Prem Bhakti as the highest and available path. By meditating lovingly on the divine couples of Radha and Krishna, or Roopdhyan meditation, devotees develop a close relationship with God. This affectionate memory could just be done every day at Prem Mandir Vrindavan, Bhakti Mandir Mangarh, as well as at home.

The Role of the Guru and Devotional Community

Kripaluji Maharaj emphasised the role of the spiritual guru and community (satsang) in progress on the spiritual path. His own role as the founder of Jagadguru Kripalu Parishat established ashrams such as Shri Kripalu Dham Mangarh and Kirti Mandir Barsana, where his Vedic teachings and devotional practices are continued and passed along.

Conclusion

Kripaluji Maharaj has integrated Vedic philosophy that is a combined mix of both scriptural heritage, which is depth and emotional intensity of a devotee.

His lineage, in the form of temples, such as Prem Mandir, books, such as Prem Ras Siddhant, devotional songs, such as Braj Ras Madhuri, etc.

Still influences seekers of the world. For those exploring Indian spiritual gurus, Jagadguru Kripalu Ji Maharaj is a beacon of prem bhakti bringing souls the way of infinite bliss of divine love
